Community & Environment
Looking after our own backyard
Service is not something we do once a year. It is clean-ups, mentoring, wellness events and showing up for neighbours — week in, week out, in London, Ontario.
We adopted Meadowgate Park
Adopted by the club in 2025.
Meadowgate Park
1165 Darnley Blvd, London, ON N6M 0B7
Cared for by the Panjabi Sports & Social Club through the City of London Adopt-a-Park programme, with NeighbourGood London.
In 2025 the Panjabi Sports & Social Club adopted Meadowgate Park in London, Ontario. Adopting a park means we take ongoing responsibility for it: keeping it tidy, reporting anything that needs the city's attention, and treating it as a space our whole community has a stake in.
What our stewardship involves
- Seasonal clean-ups. Volunteer teams walk the park and collect litter, with gloves, bags and safety vests supplied by the club.
- Reporting and upkeep. We flag damaged equipment, overflowing bins and safety concerns so they get fixed quickly.
- Family days. Clean-ups are followed by games, snacks and time together — children and seniors are as welcome as anyone.
- Environmental education. We use the park to talk about waste, recycling and why green space matters.
Why a park
Two of our objectives meet here. Environmental awareness and sustainability asks us to promote responsibility through community clean-up events, and volunteerism and civic engagement asks us to put members to work on projects that visibly help. A park is where both become real, and it gives newcomers, youth and seniors an easy first way to take part.
Come to the next clean-up
Clean-up dates are shared by email and in the members' area. Anyone can join — you do not need to be a member.
Clean-up dates are set each season by the club committee and shared with members and on our Facebook and Instagram WhatsApp pages. Want to be told directly — sign up as a volunteer.
